Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes of course! All practices will be basic, easy to follow. Taking time out of the hustle and bustle can be by itself a challenge, but we have a team ready to help you let go and relax.

  • No, Women Who Thrive is not a form of mental health therapy, even though our founders are all trained mental wellness professionals. Our day retreats do not establish a therapeutic relationship with any of the leaders.

  • Therapy involves a professional relationship between a licensed mental health provider and a client, focused on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions through structured sessions. It is a clinical process aimed at addressing specific psychological issues and promoting mental health.

In contrast, our day retreats are designed to slow down, pause, meditate, educate, and practice new skills in a non-clinical setting. These retreats provide tools, knowledge, and support for cultivating a sense of well-being and exploring your mental health. We focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for you to develop inner resilience and self-care practices without the formal structure and therapeutic relationship of clinical therapy.

  • We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and feel at ease. Closed-toe shoes are suggested for any outdoor activities.

Additionally, it's a good idea to bring layers, as temperatures can change throughout the day.

Please avoid wearing strong fragrances, as you will be in close proximity to others, and some attendees may have allergies.

Past attendees have worn everything from joggers to jeans—our main goal is for you to be comfortable.

  • We will provide you with a journal and pen and any other materials needed for the workshops planned.

There will also be water, tea, coffee, snacks, lunch and treats provided. If you have dietary restrictions please share them on the registry form when you purchase your ticket.

If you would like to sit on the floor or stretch out during breaks, we suggest you bring a floor cushion or yoga mat. We will have some available but we know sometimes people like to have their own things.

Past attendees have noted that it has been nice to have a water bottle and a sweatshirt.

  • If the retreat needs to be postponed due to inclement weather or other issues, we will honor your ticket for a future date.

Most of our day will be indoors and though we will be outside for some of the day - we have been able to be creative with this in years past during rain, etc. - so typically the weather does not stop us!

  • Our illness policy for our retreats is that any participant who is not feeling well or is showing signs of illness should stay home and seek medical attention if needed.

We take the health and safety of our participants very seriously and will not allow anyone to participate who may be contagious.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for more information.

  • We understand that plans can change, and we want to ensure a fair and transparent refund policy for our retreat participants. Please carefully read and familiarize yourself with our refund policy outlined below:

    1. Cancellation Prior to One Week of the Event:

If you need to cancel your participation in the retreat more than one week before the event's start date, you will be eligible for a refund of 50% of the total retreat fee paid. However, instead of a cash refund, we are pleased to offer you the option of applying 50% of the retreat fee towards your participation in the next scheduled retreat. This way, you can still benefit from the retreat experience while accommodating changes in your plans.

    2. Cancellation within One Week of the Event:

If you choose to cancel your participation within one week of the event's start date, we regret to inform you that no cash refunds will be provided. However, you will still have the opportunity to utilize 50% of the retreat fee as credit towards your participation in the next retreat. This policy is in place to allow us to manage our logistical arrangements and ensure a smooth retreat experience for all participants.

    3. Cancellation within 24 Hours of the Event:

In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your participation within 24 hours of the retreat's start time, no refunds or credits will be issued. This policy is in place due to the significant challenges involved in reorganizing activities and accommodations at such short notice.

    4. Transferability:

If you are unable to attend the retreat, you have the option to transfer your spot to another individual, subject to our approval and provided that the new participant meets all the required criteria for participation. Please notify us in advance if you intend to transfer your spot to another person.

    5. Special Circumstances:

We understand that exceptional circumstances can arise, such as medical emergencies or unforeseen events. If you find yourself in such a situation, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your case. We will handle these situations on a case-by-case basis with empathy and understanding.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to contact us.
